In the year 2007 falls the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Mazzotti (1907-1981), Trevisan intellectual, writer and food-and-wine gourmet, one of the most prominent personalities in contemporary Venetian and national culture, supporter of the environment and cultural heritage, writer, mountaineer, saviour of Venetian villas, for many years advisor to the Italian Touring Club, eccentric and many-sided personality of the Trevisan and national culture.
A gourmet evening in San Polo di Piave dedicated to Mazzotti, the follow-up of the similar event held last year in San Marino.
To celebrate the centenary of his birth and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Gambrinus - Giuseppe Mazzotti’s Prize, San Marino has issued a postal stationery with a value of € 0,60 depicting Mazzotti's profile whilst in the background can be seen the Guaita, the Cesta and the Montale, the three Towers of San Marino.
